Purpose

이 참고문서는 Oracle8 서버를 성공적으로 관리하고 조절하기 위해 필요한 리눅스에 특이적인 정보를 제공한다. 이 참고문서에서 제공되는 정보는 Oracle8 and Oracle8 Enterprise Edition Documentation Set에서 제공된다.

Audience

Oracle8 and Oracle8 Enterprise Edition

Typographic Conventions

`monospace`

Monospace type indicates LINUX commands, directory names, path names, and filenames.

brackets [ ]

Words enclosed in brackets indicate key names (for example, Press [Return]). Note that brackets have a different meaning when used in command syntax.

italics

Italic type indicates a variable, including variable portions of filenames, or emphasis.

UPPERCASE

Uppercase letters indicate Structured Query Language (SQL) commands, initialization parameters, or environment variables.

리눅스는 대소문자 그분을 하기 때문에, 이 문서에 있는 약속은 Oracle 제품 문서에서 이용된 것과는 다르다.

Command Syntax

명령어 구문은 monospace font로 보인다. 명령어 구문에는 다음과 같은 약속이 적용된다:

backslash \	Backslash는 명령어가 한줄에 다 쓰기에는 너무 길다는 것을 가르킨다. 적혀 있는 명령어를 (Backslash를 이용하여) 그대로 입력하던지 또는 그것을 backslash 없이 한줄로 입력하라: `dd if=/dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s6 of=/dev/rst0 bs=10b \ count=10000`
braces { }	Braces indicate required items: `.DEFINE {macro1}`
brackets [ ]	Brackets indicate optional items: `cvtcrt` termname `[`outfile`]` Note that brackets have a different meaning when used in regular text.
ellipses ...	Ellipses indicate an arbitrary number of similar items: `CHKVAL fieldname` value1 value2 ... valueN
italics	Italic type indicates a variable. Substitute a value for the variable: library_name
vertical line \|	A vertical line indicates a choice within braces or brackets: SIZE filesize [K\|M]
